The grey and yellow is a 16 06 spitfire III, the green board is the 06 Caution Redline.

Can't wait to try the redline, two weeks and i will be in la ventana for 6 days. I already rode the 12 spit III and it is ridiculously fast and great for jumping. I will wait to write a review until i have ridden it a couple more times, because i was only out for a couple hours in super strong gusty winds. I am editing some videos of that session. I had to put the 12 on the slower speed settings, as it was too fast, this has never happenned to me before! The 12 and smaller will be killer wave riding kites. And the wind range is huge. A guy about 20 pounds lighter than me was fully lit on a toro 1 8 meters, witha smaller FLX 128, i was on an FLX 132.
Let me know if you want any more specific pictures, i am going to upload some more of my 12 which is fluoro yellow and red leading edge and flames.

I demo'd a 16m Spitty 06 today and was very impressed. Fast turning, smooth flying, jumping machine. The 5th line(nose line) was set up perfectly, but differently, then my North 14m 06. On the Caution kite, the nose line stayed taught through out the session, power on and power off, bar in , bar out, it didn't matter. On my North 14m, the nose line, is tight sometimes and slack sometimes. The Caution kite flew & felt better to me. Another thing that impressed me, not a stitch wrinkle in the canopy. A very smooth foil. I'll be looking at the Vegas 06, but this kite has my attention.

Yep, looks like it might be time to retire the sweet tush. I will start looking for a replacement avatar.

About the cautions, the reason the 5th doesn't get any slack is because the fifth line has a very cool bungie which keeps it tense, while you power and depower the kite.
Best winds,

Andres,

I thought Caution used a V fifth line set up similar to North's Fifth element. The pics for the 06 Spit look like a traditional 5 line set up. Did they switch for 06 or am I not remembering correctly?

Bill, it is similar to the north setup. But it has the addition of the bungie on the fifth line.

The blue line is the fifth line:

It is not totally free and is attached to the leader line here and here, it has knot there so you can undo any tangles from there:

On the right of the blue line in this picture you can see where the bungie ends.

Then the fifth goes on by itself, and the leader line separates into the two frontlines, north type style:

Any doubts?

Why I just tried the Spitfire III 16m and I am amazed. I can not believe how much the kite has improved. I loved my Spittie IIs, but sorry guys good by. I went out in cold water for 5 hours with only a half hour break when I let the Shredster demo it. The wind was from 10 mph to 25 mph. Could not feel the gust and so easy to control the speed. I see why every one who tries the 5th stays with the 5th. I never thought I would be a 5th line guy but I can't go back to 4 lines now. The hang time and pop of this kite great. Upwind has improved. The kite always wants to always stay up. Almost dropped the kite 3 times during jumps but just get hold of the center of the bar and up it goes. Caution really has another winner here!! I do miss the bullet holes It is called a Spitfire.
