Have you ever wondered why Ezzy Sails has such a loyal following of hardcore windsurfers?
Try an Ezzy and the answer becomes obvious

For 2008, the Ezzy Wave SE will take you down the road to sailing nirvana. The first thing you will notice about the 2008 Ezzy Wave SE is the extremely wide wind range designed into the sail and accessed through the outhaul. In high wind, just pull more on the outhaul and the profile flattens to give a locked, stable feeling. If you want more power for some light wind sailing, ease the outhaul and you get a deep and powerful light-air sail.

Next, you will notice the sail's extremely balanced and soft feeling that allows you to focus on your next move rather than on what the sail is doing

Finally, you'll notice our proven construction. The main sail panels are made of ultradurable Spectra X-film, and the foot is constructed of an even stronger Ezzy-designed Spectra X-film. The clear vinyl window will neither tear nor scratch, giving a lifetime of great visibility and strength.

Adding even more durability, the 2008 Ezzy Wave SE has a weft-stop sleeve cloth that will impressively resist tears caused by extreme forces like breaking masts.

The Ezzy Wave SE is equipped with:

* A thick mast pad that flips up for easy rigging.
* Triple-ply leech reinforcements.
* Ezzy EndoBatten construction.
* An adjustable and removable head strap.
* A removable tack pulley that can be replaced with a D-ring for those sailors that prefer a grommet.
* Printed rigging instructions on the sail.
* And of course, every sail is rigged and checked before it leaves the factory.

Ezzy Sails 2008 Freeride:

The Freeride feels locked-in on the reaches and de-powers on the fly for jibes and maneuvers. With the addition of an extra batten below the boom, the Freeride has increased power and stability. The foot rakes nicely for speed and also for bump 'n' jump sailing.

The materials and construction of the Freeride are tough, made with our Spectra X-film throughout and all seams are double taped and double sewn.

The Freeride contains no monofilm and is designed to last for years.

Ezzy Freeride:
The Story:

Although David Ezzy had no plans to make a non-cam freeride sail,
after much pleading from one of the largest shops in the US he started thinking that the new deep, draft-forward profile he was using in the 2007 wave sail might be pretty cool in a freeride sail.
The first prototype turned out to be extremely stable and powerful.
It felt very much like it had cams, yet gybed like a wave sail.
The Freeride NC was born.
With its radically deep profile located way forward in the sail, in light winds the Freeride NC can be set with neutral to 1cm of outhaul.
For strong winds, you simply apply a lot of outhaul(up to 7,0cm) and it feels light with locked-in shape. Even when set flat, the forward profile remains. On this (and all Ezzy 2008 sails) less downhaul tension is required and most of the tuning is done with the outhaul.
Over-downhauling will flatten the luff too much and make them harder to control in strong wind, says David Ezzy.
Construction and materials are exactly the same as the Wave range, with Spectra-X Film body and a vinyl window.
All seams are double sewn, and there are two battens below the boom to add more foot area. The foot rakes nicely on the board for slalom-type sailing, yet it is high enough for bump&jump sailing too.

New from the Ezzy Sails loft comes the Freeride NC. This freeride no cam sail has a similar profile to the current Wave SE but with a lower foot and extra foot batten giving the sail even more power and stability. Its construction is identical to the wave sail with its clew placed at the same height as the Wave SE.

On the water, the deep forward draft gives the Freeride NC a very comfy and stable ride, powering superbly in the jibes. The foot rakes nicely on the board for speed, but also works great for those bump'n'jump conditions too.

The Freeride is designed with a radically deep profile that is located very
forward in the sail. For light wind, you can run it with neutral to 1.0cm of
outhaul and get a super deep profile. The fact that the draft is so forward
means that there is less side force which means your back hand does not load
up. For strong wind, you apply a lot of outhaul, up to 7.0 cm of positive
outhaul, and it feels light with locked-in shape. The reason for this is
that even when set flat, the forward profile remains. It is also interesting
to note that the Freeride and all of our 2007 sails require less downhaul
tension in years past. Over-downhauling will flatten the luff too much and
will actually make them harder to control in strong wind. Most of the tuning
is done with the outhaul.

The Freeride construction and materials are exactly the same as used in our wave sail. The body material is our Spectra X film. It has a vinyl window.
All seams are double sewn. It has two battens below the boom to add more foot area. The foot rakes nicely on the board for slalom-type sailing, yet it is high enough for bump'n'jump sailing too.

. Designed for flat water, bump and jump sailing.
. Endobatten construction for a symmetrical profile on both starboard and port tack.
. SpectraR reinforced X-Film stops rips dead in their tracks.
. New foot cloth with double the SpectraR yarns, stops harness hook punctures and nose-ofthe-board tears.
. Vinyl window provides perfect visibility and great durability.
. No monofilm.
. Strong RBSR Epoxy battens.
. Outhaul gauge shows you how much outhaul you need.
. Super-thick mast pad wraps around your universal and flips up for easy rigging.
. Fits regular diameter masts and skinny masts.
. EVERY sail is rigged and checked before it's shipped.

Enjoy the Ezzy journey.

Unparalleled Research & Development:

10 months out of the year we are designing, making and testing prototypes for the next year's sails. We make almost a sail a day. Other companies make 1 sail a week or every two weeks. We test our sails in a variety of conditions on Maui. We are constantly trying new ideas and materials to make our sails better than the rest.

Lots of outhaul, a radical draft-forward design, and rigging guides like no other -- sail designer David Ezzy shows WindSurfing's editor how to rig his latest Wave SE, and reveals why this sail has a cult-like following.
